ADOPT A BATHGATE FAMILY FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Let's share the joy of the holidays with our fellow Bathgate families in need of our care!

Kindly sign up to donate an item on their wish list and bring the unwrapped gift with the name of the recipient (ie: Rudolph – Boy 7) to our school office by Tuesday, Dec. 19th.  Please see the link attached for the Wish List. We will wrap the items and deliver them to our families.

Remember every gift, small or large, positively impacts a child in our school community.  We have a unique opportunity to both brighten these families lives and model compassion for our little ones.

Thank you all for your generosity and dedication to our students and school this year.  Together we're paving the way to our brightest year yet!

Cheerfully yours,

Bathgate PTA

On November 8th, a Little Free Library was dedicated to Bathgate Elementary School in memory of Mrs. Pat Bathgate.  Every school day the Pat Bathgate Little Free Library will be rolled out to the table area by the playground, so that students can borrow a book and/or donate a book whenever they wish. Mrs. Bathgate believed in the importance of education and she enjoyed reading with students whenever she was here at school. She would be very pleased to know that our Bathgate Blazers have a Little Free Library they can visit, to practice their reading and get lost in a good book!

**ATTENDANCE & TARDIES** This year we are kicking off a school wide program to help improve attendance and tardies.  Our theme is called “Attendance Hero”.  Our goal is to bring awareness to the link between attendance and student achievement.  This program is intended to help boost attendance at a school wide level.  Classrooms will be displaying the letters to spell “Here, Every day, Ready, On Time”.  Once your child’s class has spelled out all of the words, they will earn a class reward!  We will be starting this program on Monday, November 6th.  We encourage you to set up a good morning routine.

All you need to do is visit the Mission Viejo CPK location between June 5, 2017 and September 3, 2017 and present the card to your server at the end of your meal. This works for dine-in, take-out, or catering orders. This is a three-month long fundraiser with the possibility of raising thousands of dollars for our school!! Please bring only what your children can manage each day so that we don’t slow down the drop off traffic. If you have a lot to donate please spread it out over the week. We will be collecting on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday morning but you may drop off items into the bins at the front of the school all day any time. We won't be collecting on Thursday so that we don't interfere with Thursday’s recycling.  If you have TONS to donate please contact Lori Manzo at lorimanzo@yahoo.com or Roxann Hinely at roxannhinely@gmail.com to arrange an at home pick up. Thanks so much for being the change with us! Camp Pendleton families will be so amazed!

IMPORTANT!  BLAZER BULLETIN SUBSCRIPTIONS CHANGING SOON (School LISTSERV)

CUSD is transitioning away from traditional listserv emails. We will be sending all Blazer Bulletin messages through School Messenger. Community members who wish to stay up to date with school messages should sign up here . Parents of students in the school should not sign up for this service. Doing so will result in double messaging. As an additional service, community members and parents may also download the CUSD app on iTunes and Google Play to receive the same community messages via notifications. The transition will happen as of February 1, 2017.
